Wimbledon 2010
Can Spanish player Rafael Nadal repeat his stunning performance from last years Wimbledon? That will be the question on the lips of those placing Wimbledon 2010 bets.
Who will prevail?
It is predicted that Wimbledon 2010 bets will be strongly focused this year on Nadal after he won the first Wimbledon title of his career last year.
Since Wimbledon Nadal has gone on this year to became the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open, the fourth male tennis player to win Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces, and the first male tennis player to hold simultaneously Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces.
His next appearance at Wimbledon will no doubt be keenly anticipated by those placing Wimbledon 2010 bets.
Of course the player Nadal defeated last year, five-time defending champion Swiss professional tennis player Roger Federer, will no doubt have a score to settle.
Federer, who is currently ranked World No. 2, was the World Number 1 ranked player for a record 237 consecutive weeks before being misplaced by Nadal. But a back injury and losses to Nadal at the Australian Open leave questions hanging over whether he will he be a close contender this year for Wimbledon 2010 bets.
Federer withdrew from the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships and from Switzerland's Davis Cup tie against the U.S. citing a back injury he sustained in late 2008.
Federer said it was simply a precautionary measure to make sure he was ready for action for the rest of the 2010 season. But only time will tell whether this will make him an attractive prospect for Wimbledon 2010 bets.
Whatever the case if Nadal and Federer meet in the final at this year's Wimbledon it will be an interesting match. But the fact that Nadal has won 13 of their 19 singles matches including five of their most recent encounters could mean he is a stronger contender for Wimbledon 2010 bets.
