Wimbledon Odds
Strong performances by rival players since last year's Wimbledon have increased their Wimbledon 2009 odds meaning there could be some surprises in store for punters at this years tournament.
Federer, Nadal and Murray
British player Andy Murray is one whose Wimbledon 2009 odds are undoubtedly on the increase. He started his year by beating world number 2 Federer and world number 1 Rafael Nadal to win the Capitala World Tennis Championship proving he could have what it takes to do well at Wimbledon 2009.
He has continued to have strong performance against his rivals retaining his title at the Qatar Open once again beating Federer and defeating Nadal at the ABN AMRO Tournament in Rotterdam. He was seeded fourth for the Australian Open with Nadal first seed and Federer second seed meaning Murray's Wimbledon 2009 odds continue to be on the up.
Meanwhile defending champion Rafael Nadal's Wimbledon 2009 odds have continued to remain steady after his last year's win. He has had strong performances over his rival Roger Federer including defeating him in the finals of the Australian Open.
Rival Federer won the 2008 US Open for the fifth consecutive time. But he was defeated by Nadal in the Australian Open in a match that lasted over four hours with Nadal victorious in five sets no doubt shortening his Wimbledon 2009 odds.
Like Nadal, defending Wimbledon champion Venus Williams has likewise had strong performances this year increasing her Wimbledon 2009 odds.
Venus defeated Jelena Jankovic at the JB Group Classic tournament in Hong Kong. But Venus was seeded sixth in the Australian Open, which will have shortened her Wimbledon 2009 odds compared with her sister Serena.
Serena won her third US Open title beating Jankovic. Serena then went on to claim her tenth Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open earlier this year. The win also returned her to the World No 1 ranking ensuring her Wimbledon 2009 odds will be good.
